Four Generations

While I was in Ohio for Mother's Day weekend I finally got to meet my Great Grandma and Grandpa Holt. I had heard so much about them from my parents! Great Grandpa Holt was so thrilled that my parents had a little boy so that the Holt name could be carried on. Of course, there wasn't any pressure on Mommy to have boy....nope, none!! It was so nice to visit with them in Ohio. Great Grandpa Holt just held me so tight and snuggled me a lot! I think he was very proud to have a great grandson, what do you think? Above is a picture of four generations of the Holt boys! And so the Holt name continues...and Great Grandpa Holt loves Mommy even more than he did before!!!

My Last Baby Shower...

I just had my last baby shower. I am guessing that baby showers turn into birthday parties? Just a guess! My Nana Holt and Aunt Ammey hosted the shower for me, that was so nice of them! The food was so yummy, especially the cake!! I met so many new people, most of them were my relatives! I was very thrilled to be passed around. I met my two Great Grandmas on my Daddy's side; I cuddled with them for such a long time. I didn't want to leave their arms and I don't think they wanted to share me with everyone else, do you blame them?!? Thanks to everyone for supplying me with diapers for practically forever - I have a closet FULL now! I received so many great gifts from adorable clothes to toys! My cousins, Owen and Jackson, built me a bear - that was so special! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who came to Nana's house to see me, each of you hold a dear place in my heart. You'll never know how much my parents appreciate all of the gifts that I received! I heard them use the term 'spoiled' in the same sentence as Easton the other day. I didn't think Easton stood for spoiled, but maybe it does? I'll let you be the judge! Enjoy all of the pictures from the shower...

2 Month Checkup

Another trip to the doctor, guess I better used to this, huh? It was for my 8 week checkup. The doctor warned me at my 2 week checkup visit that my 8 week visit wasn't going to be a cake walk and it wasn't! The easiest part was getting undressed to get on the scale for my weight check. I have grown SO much - the doctor thought that I was 4 months old when he came into the exam room!! I now weigh 11 lbs 12 oz and am 22.5 inches long! My parents were so thrilled to find out how much I have grown. They knew that I was getting pretty big because I eat all the time and SO much, no really I do!! The doctor told my parents that I could start on some cereal at night since I was such a big baby. I am excited to try something different, maybe I will get a good night's rest...we'll see! I know my parents could use a good night's rest thats for sure! I received 5 vaccinations - 4 shots and 1 oral - yes, not a cake walk! It was quite painful, of course I cried really hard, I think my parents are still trying to recover from what they witnessed. I fell asleep on the way home and slept most of the day away. The worst part is that in 2 months I will need to go through all this again. Here are a few snapshots of my checkup...

Highlights...

Throughout the past 2 months there have been many highlights that have made my parents smile. Not that they don't have a permanent smile on their face anyways, but you know what I mean. Here are a few moments that may put a smile on your face...

The first several weeks all I did was sleep, eat, pee, and poo - my parents kept looking at me wondering when I was going to smile and laugh! They kept saying, "Come on Easton, any day now you can show us those beautiful gums"! Well, during week 3 - to be exact on March 29 I smiled at both of my parents! They both looked at each other and said "Oh my goodness, he just smiled at us"! And then there were fireworks...Enjoy the picture of my big smile, it is a near giggle...

So, I grasped the concept of smiling down and "smiling real big" (as Mommy says). But, I also wanted something else to grasp their attention. During week 6 I learned that if I cry just alittle and my parents don't come running then I can stick out my bottom lip and do what my parents call a "pouty lip". And, boy do I have that down! See for yourself...I hear it is pretty big and pathetic. Gotta keep making them fall in love with me...

During week 7 I went to the Cancer Center to see where Mommy works, well I had to get on an elevator. I didn't know what was going on! I know it was quite a sight for my parents, my head was looking left and right, as my eyes were very wide open. I near pushed myself out of my car seat and looked around to see what was exactly going on. I am still not sure about those elevators, I am not sure if I was scared, excited, anxious, or maybe a combination of all? None-the-less, my parents thought it was very cute. Unfortunately, they didn't get a candid shot of that. During this week, I also discovered that I don't really like lights on when I am napping - I tend to cover my eyes if the light is real bright. Again, another cute moment...I am hearing a lot of "Awwwwws" these days! Enjoy the snapshot of my parents capturing that moment...

I am now 2 months old and on the verge of a giggle. My parents are expecting to hear a giggle come out any day. I am cooing more and more each day. As a matter of fact, I now have conversations with my parents. Mommy is really working hard to get me to say "Ma Ma" as my first word. We will see how that works out for her! I am now doing tummy time everyday, my parents tell me that this is going to help my neck, arm, and leg muscles. Stay tuned....my next "Highlights" will probably be giggling and sitting up...aiyaya aiyaya I am growing up SO fast!!

The 7th Week

Seven weeks and on the go! I started my week off by visiting one of my friends, Payton, and her Mommy (Tish) and little sis (Chloe). Mommy and Tish had a great time chatting while Payton and I enjoyed each others company. Isn't Payton such a cutie? Payton is a month older than I am. I was trying to rough-house her, but she wasn't having any part of that! Chloe is such a beautiful little girl too, if I was only alittle older! Chloe enjoyed cuddling me; she couldn't believe how much I have grown since she saw me at the hospital. We all had a great time - can't wait until our next play date!

Mommy also took me to the airport to see Daddy!! I was beyond excited to finally see where he goes Monday through Friday! Daddy pointed out all the planes on the ramp and told me that he couldn't wait to take me flying. I can't wait to be Daddy's lil' copilot! Afterall, I am a Holt and we all know that the Holts think they are birds! Whether it be hot-air ballooning with my Great Aunt Karen, flying with my Daddy, zip lining with Daddy and Nana, or skydiving with Nana - I am sure I will try to grow wings somehow, somewhere, someday!!

Mommy and Daddy also took me to the Cancer Center where Mommy works. Mommy was so excited to get to see all of her friends there; she has made so many close friends while working there - she loves them dearly! I loved seeing all of the pretty ladies in the office - I cooed and smiled at each of them! Mommy works with so many special people! It was quite a moving experience for me, as I know that Mommy takes care of really sick people. All of her patients are an inspiration to our whole family; they are fighting the most courageous battle with such dignity. I am looking forward to attending my first Relay for Life later this month. And remember if it wasn't for research, we wouldn't have the drugs that we have today to help sick people...something to think about, huh?

My week ended with the latest and greatest - Skype! I got to see my Nana, Papa, Aunt Ammey, Jackson, Owen, Great Uncle Rinaldo, and Nonna all through my parents webcam! I just love Skype; it is literally the best thing since breast milk! Everyone is so excited because they can see me now since they are so far away. No one could believe how big I have gotten since they saw me last! Just wait till they see me in person...Mommy says I am quite the cuddle bug. I do have to admit that I love to be held...quite a bit that is! I am changing more and more with each passing day...my parents are definitely cherishing each moment...

Adventurous at 6 Weeks

From the minute I turned six weeks old, I suddenly became quite adventurous! To be honest, I was tired of staring at the walls at the house and I know that Mommy was definitely getting tired of it too! So, off we headed with the Germ-X in hand for an adventurous week...

Our first stop of the week was to my Great Grandma Sadah's house in Beckley, WV. Believe it or not, Mommy drove us all the way up there and back. And when I say "us" I literally mean her and I, remember Daddy is working (have I told you how much I miss him)! I got to see my cousin, Rowan. She loved touching me while Great Grandma was holding me; she is SO sweet and I cannot wait until I get alittle older so that we can play together. My second outing of the week was with one of my Mommy's best friends, Rebecca, and her daughter, Hannah. We all went to a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meeting where Mommy learned about first-aid and got to mingle with other mothers. I was on my best behavior, it probably helped that Mommy finally learned to feed me as we are practically pulling out of the garage!! We also went to Pandapas Pond for a short hike; Mommy was upset that we forgot the bread to feed the ducks. Mommy pointed out all the ducks, geese, and turtles along the way even though I was snoozing.

My parents taught me alittle about gardening during the week. We planted a bunch of vegetables from seed. My parents said that they really hope that we aren't putting out a smorgasbord of food for the deer, rabbits, and groundhogs that come into our yard! I guess we'll all find out soon enough. Daddy also showed me the John Deere mower; I can see that he is itching for me to get alittle bigger so that I can help him mow the lawn! Mommy says that we'll just have to settle for a little toy mower for now...

My sixth week ended with Mommy and Daddy taking me to the mall. I became quite fussy about 10 minutes into the journey through the mall. My parents were on the verge of panic and were ready to leave. I finally calmed down and we continued our journey. I was thankful I got myself together, as it was quite a neat experience. With all this adventure this week, I believe my parents are becoming quite confident in taking me out, what do you think? I just hear Mommy tell Daddy that I must eat before we head out, extra milk is a must for the trip, not to leave home without the Germ-X, and lastly, strangers aren't allowed to grab my cheeks...
